How the Process of Editing A Documentary Mirrors Guitar Building

Making 3 minutes documentary film from 10 hours footage from 6 months of film production.

As mentioned above, the production of this piece took 6 months, resulting in 10 hours worth of footage, which then had to be cut down to three minutes for the finished piece. For many aspiring editors, this would be nerve-wracking. How do you take that much footage, cut away more than 99% of it, and be assured that what you're left with is as good as it can possibly be? Will Hammond, Contra's editor, describes his process for doing exactly that.

"Lagos in Motion", the photo book from the documentary film made from more than 30 hours of filming sights and sounds of Africa's largest megacity. It is the most comprehensive coverage of the city; from the mainland to the Island.

Winners at the 2017 LA Film Festival

This is Who Won at the 2017 LA Film Festival
by MATT WARREN

Well, that was fast! Like all good times, the 2017 LA Film Festival has seemingly come and (very nearly) gone faster than seems humanly plausible. Could it really be that—as of this time next week—the Festival Lounge will be no more, reduced to a simple patch of green grass at the foot of business-as-usual Culver Studios? Or that the ArcLight will be suddenly vacated of Festival fare, replaced by the deafening whooshes and booms of summer movie season?

But not quite yet—there are prizes to be given out first. Handed out June 22 at a mid-morning brunch on the Festival Lawn hosted by LA Film Festival Director Jennifer Cochis, the awards brunch celebrated jury prize honorees from the Festival’s U.S. Fiction, World Fiction, Documentary, Nightfall and LA Muse categories. Audience Awards were also presented for Fiction Feature, Documentary Feature, Short Film and Web Series.

What Not to Do When Working with a Real Estate Agent

I see too many home sellers sabotaging their own home sale. I wanted to share some tips with you on how to avoid things you shouldn't do when working with a real estate agent.

1. Sellers will occasionally want to say how great their home is compared to all other homes in the neighborhood. When people upgrade their homes, they don’t always get a dollar for dollar return on that investment.

2.Sellers will sometimes stay in the home for showings. This just makes buyers uncomfortable. Just don’t do this. It’s not professional and it will make selling your home even more difficult if you’re breathing down a buyer’s back.

“DON’T STAY AT YOUR HOME DURING A SHOWING.”

3. Some sellers don’t understand the pricing of their home and want to ask for an enormous price. Positioning your home right at fair market value is the best strategy. Asking too much will result in buyers ignoring your listing. Buyers are savvy and they know a good price when they see one.

These are things that just make it harder for an agent to sell your home. If you can avoid doing these things, you’ll make it much easier for your real estate agent to sell your home.

The Beauty of Art Décor for Interior Décor

The Beauty of Art Appreciation in Interior Decoration

VOGUE Australia.

Art appreciation shows how much intellectual education a person has. And the more you appreciate art, the more you will appreciate the beauty of life.

The appreciation of art is also the appreciation of humanity and the society.
No wonder the #Chinese and the #Japanese are now the leading countries for art appreciation and art collection in the world. Because, art appreciates with time and does not lose its value. But even the most expensive cars will later be abandoned in the garage or junkyard as they are replaced by the newest brands of cars in town.

That is why the most educated people spend millions of dollars to buy the most valuable paintings, drawings, mixed media works and sculptures at art auctions and exhibitions.

The highest selling contemporary Nigerian artist of the moment is Njideka Akunyili Crosby, the daughter of late Nigerian Minister of Information, Dr. Dora Akunyili. Her art work "Drown" broke record for the second time in a row with a huge auction sale of US$1,092,500 more than the expected sale of US$200,000-US$300,000 at the Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Auction in November, 2016.

In 2017, her “The Beautyful Ones” sold for $3,075,774 (including fees).
