Top model Kate Upton, commented on the new collection: “Pronovias is an emblematic brand and thanks to seeing this fashion show I’ve been able to see that they have different patterns and styles to fit all kinds of brides. The collection is beautiful, full of details and very sexy.”

Victoria’s Secret angels Romee Strijd, Martha Hunt, and Cindy Bruna along with the international top model Bregje Heinen shined on the mirrored runway. For yet another year, the mise-en-scene surprised the guests; this time it included a spectacular wishing well, metaphorically referencing the magical movement of water, its fluidity and shine, which is apparent in all the designs of this new collection.

Hervé Moreau, the firm’s creative director, remarked that the Atelier Pronovias 2018 Collection “is a very special new collection, for which I was inspired by a magical wishing well where the bride’s sensuality and radiance is reflected by jeweled and embroidered embellishments. The water is a key element and the liquid movement is evident in the gowns’ various volumes and patterns.”

T.J.Maxx Teams Up with Laila Ali and Barbara Corcoran to Help Women Pursue the Dreams and Aspirations That Make Them Unique
“The Maxx You Project” will help women across the country with inspirational mentors and immersive experiences

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., April 26, 2017 – .
T.J.Maxx believes that wonderful things happen when women let their individuality shine. So, last year when T.J.Maxx spoke to hundreds of women in stores across the country and discovered that 80 percent feel stereotyped by society into specific roles and expectations, the brand knew something had to change.

In response, T.J.Maxx is launching The Maxx You Project— aimed at helping women break those stereotypes by embracing the personal aspirations or lifelong dreams that make them each one-of-a-kind. T.J.Maxx has partnered with boxing world champion, TV host, author and speaker, Laila Ali and businesswoman, investor, speaker and TV personality, Barbara Corcoran — two women who have overcome adversity, defied expectations and pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones — to help 80 women to do the same.

Laila Ali:
“As a woman, I know there are ‘boxes’ the world might try to place us in and go-to labels often used to describe us: mother, sister, boss, friend, etc., but they don’t even begin to scratch the surface of who we truly are at our core,” said Ali. “From ‘Mom Boss’ to boxing world champion, entrepreneur to cooking enthusiast, author, speaker and TV host, there is no one role that defines me. That’s why I’m really excited to partner with T.J.Maxx to inspire others to break through those labels and pursue what’s inside them.”

Navigating Lagos, Africa's Largest Megacity, Part 1

How can one describe Lagos in one sentence to an upwardly mobile entrepreneur or tourist?
Lagos is like a combination of New York and California; for booming business and entertainment.

LAGOS in MOTION: A Photo Album of Africa's Largest Megacity (Volume 1), distributed by Amazon is a colourful travelogue on Lagos, called Ìlú Èkó in Yorùbá
The photo book from a new tourist documentary film, "LAGOS in MOTION: Sights and Sounds of Africa's Largest Megacity" shows different locations visited by a group of young men and women touring the city from the mainland to the island. They started from the Magodo axis where there is a monument of the statues of three white cap chiefs. The statues are 21 feet by 14 feet and standing on a 7 feet pedestal welcoming visitors to Lagos.
The tourists drive on to Ojota; Maryland Bus Stop to Ikeja Bus Stop and Oshodi Bus Stop; passing every bus stop along the long Ikorodu Road to Yaba with the famous Presbyterian Church; University of Lagos in Akoka; Onike with the popular Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Church and the Ayodele Awojobi Memorial Park; Sabo with Yaba Baptist Church near the Ozone Cinemas on Tos Benson Avenue and the Herbert Macaulay Memorial statue near the Union Bank facing the Sabo Market and Police Station; Ojuelegba Bus Stop; Barracks Bus Stop and National Stadium in Surulere on the Western Avenue to Costain with the Funso Williams Memorial statue; National Theatre; Eko Bridge to the Marina; CMS Bus Stop with the famous Lagos Cathedral; Tinubu Square with the famous Madam Tinubu monument at the fountain; Balogun Market and they moved on to Tafawa Balewa Square; Kings College with the nearby skyscrapers of the Independence Building, NITEL Building and Western House opposite the General Hospital;  the  National Museum beside the City Mall in Onikan leading to Obalende Bus Stop to Keffi in South West Ikoyi along the Awolowo Road to Falomo roundabout and the Bourdillon Road leading to the popular Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge; Ahmadu Bello Way to the Bar Beach and Ajose Adeogun roundabout on Victoria Island, location of Eko Atlantic City under construction; The Palms Shopping Mall and ended their tour at the Elegushi beach.
See clips from the documentary film on Screen Naija YouTube channel.

The earliest incarnation of Lagos was an Awori Yoruba fishing community located on the islands and peninsula that form the modern state. The area was inhabited by families who claimed a semi-mythical ancestry from a figure called Olofin.
The modern descendants of this figure are the contemporary nobility known as the Idejo or "white cap chiefs" of Lagos.
Lagos was declared a colony on  March 5, 1862 by the British Empire The colony and protectorate of Nigeria were incorporated into Southern Nigeria in February 1906, and Lagos became the capital of the protectorate of Nigeria in January 1914.

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, current Governor of Lagos State.

2017 is the Golden Jubilee year of Lagos state, because May 27 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment by the Federal Government of Nigeria on May 27, 1967 under the Creation and Transitional Provisions Decree No. 14 of 1967.
Lagos State is divided into five Administrative Divisions, which are further divided into twenty Local Government Areas, or LGAs. And the current Governor is Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of the national ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

During World War I he served as a stoker on the RMS Mauretania to avenge German cruelty to his family. Following the end of the war, he moved to London; on arrival in 1919 he had no source of income and had to look for ways to earn money. Around the same time, the Lyceum Theatre was looking for 'supers' at the rate of three shillings per day. Martins joined the theatre and from there took on various theatre jobs to survive.
