Frazier has partnered with Stand for the Silent (SFTS), whose mission it is to bring global awareness to the disturbing issue of bullying in today's society. SFTS was started after Kirk and Laura Smalley's son Ty committed suicide in May of 2010 following a school suspension for defending himself against a bully. Artistry Youth Dance to Promote Diversity in Dance by Encouraging Young Londoners of African and Caribbean Descent to Achieve Success in Dance

Artistry Youth Dance has launched London's first youth dance company to teach jazz, contemporary dance and Horton technique to young people of African and Caribbean descent. The not-for-profit organization, launched in April of this year, aims to cultivate a more culturally diverse representation of dancers within the industry by showcasing talented young dancers of African and Caribbean descent. Teaching ballet as well as workshops in a variety of other dance styles including hip-hop and musical theater, the company supports young people to realize their talents in dance and creates pathways for further education in the Arts. Having accepted its first intake of 10 students (aged 14-19), Artistry Youth Dance is now looking to progress towards its first performances later this year.

Artistry Youth Dance is particularly excited to bring Horton technique - a blend of ballet, Native American folk dance, Japanese arm gestures, and Caribbean, Javanese, and Balinese techniques - to London youth. "All of our teachers are highly experienced and have trained at the Ailey School in New York," says Gray. "We are the only youth dance company in London to teach Horton technique, so this is a wonderful opportunity for young dancers."


Artistry Youth Dance is a vibrant youth dance company for aspiring performers of African and Caribbean descent, aged 14-19 years. With a focus on jazz and contemporary dance, we aim to provide training and performance opportunities for our Company members, showcasing their talents and celebrating their artistry.

Kamara is an experienced dance teacher and performer of Jamaican heritage who has taught extensively in the UK, Australia and Kuwait. She was born in Papua New Guinea and grew up in Sydney, where she began studying dance at age four. As a performer, her credits include film, television, and live events, including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony as a Lead Tap dancer, the MTV Europe Awards, and L'Heure Espagnole with the Royal Opera.

Marking the occasion was the official signing ceremony between Mr. Stanley Cheung, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, The Walt Disney Company, Greater China and Mr. Li Jinzhao, General Manager Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone Development Co., Ltd. The event took place at the Pudong Government offices with Governor Mr. Jiang Liang and Vice Governor Madam Liu Zhengyi present at the ceremony. Slated to open in early 2015, the 5000 square meters (or 53,000 square feet) Disney Store Lujiazui site will be located in Shanghai's financial hub, and will feature a state-of-the art Disney Store retail space (approximately 1000 square meters or 10,800 square feet) and a Disney-themed outdoor plaza area.

The interior of the store will be designed using Disney's award-winning innovative store format. Featuring cutting-edge technologies, families and kids will be able to interact with their favorite characters and stories from across Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. "China's flagship Disney Store will feature the largest and most diverse collection of Disney products by local and international designers," added Mr. Cheung.

The plaza will feature Disney-themed landscaping, a first for any Disney Store property in the world, and will have the capacity to host outdoor events providing a destination hub for family entertainment. It will also be an important site where fans can track the progress of Shanghai Disney Resort which is targeted to open at the end of 2015. The surrounding area commands foot traffic of over 40 million visitors a year and is a destination for many shoppers, visitors and tourists to Shanghai.

The Disney Store made its debut in 1987 and now spans 340 locations around the world. The store in Shanghai will represent the first store on the Chinese mainland.
