"Moonlight" Upsets "La La Land" To Win Best Picture Oscar

I predicted that the winner of the Best Director Oscar will not be the winner of the Best Picture Oscar and that is exactly what happened Sunday night at the 89th Academy Awards ceremony of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on February 26, 2017.
Barry Jenkins' low budget drama Moonlight beat the highly favoured La La Land of Damien Chazelle to win the most coveted Oscar for Best Picture and Chazelle won the Oscar for Best Director.

MATRIX IV: Resurrection Day

We want the awesome duo of Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishburne to return for the resurrection of Neo in a new Matrix trilogy.
The Matrix Franchise was huge grossing US$1.6 billion dollars.
“The Wachowskis would have to be involved, they would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not? People die, stories don’t, people in stories don’t.”
At the end of Matrix 3: Revolutions, Reeves sacrificed his life to give peace to the survivors of the machine, and give everyone a happy ending, seemingly ending the trilogy for good. However, there was a small shred of hope in the last scene when The Oracle (Mary Alice) was asked by Sati (Tanveer K. Atwal):
"Will we ever see him again?" to which she replied, "I suspect so. Someday."

Claude Lelouch’s Cult Classic Driving Film, Reimagined in 360 VR with the Ford Mustang

Claude Lelouch’s Cult Classic Driving Film, Reimagined in 360 VR with the Ford Mustang

It’s said that the Ford Mustang has starred in more movies than any other car. Now GTB – Ford’s creative agency – have created a real on-screen first for the legendary marque. To celebrate the iconic driving film C’etait un rendez-vous, GTB worked with Claude Lelouch to recreate his iconic original film, in 360 VR.

Lelouch said of the remake: ‘C’etait un rendez-vous was a first in 1976, nobody had ever filmed an urban drive like it. So I was thrilled by the prospect of recreating this high-octane short using the very latest technology: making it even more immersive.’

Says Chief Creative Julian Watt, “The original 1976 movie captured an audacious eight-minute drive through Paris in the early hours of the morning. It was thrilling and ground breaking. Our idea was to maintain that essential experience, but bring the cinematic thrill of VR and the driving experience of Ford Mustang.”

Perfectly recreating the main aspects of the route was a difficult challenge for GTB (not least because some of the roads no longer exist), but Re Rendez-vous manages to replicate the exhilaration found in the original and brings it roaring into the 21st century.

Re Rendez-vous is due for release in February, will initially air online and can be viewed in 360 on mobile devices or virtual reality using any VR headset.

The VR film will be distributed via YouTube and Facebook. Re-Rendezvous will also feature within editorial content through Teads’ network of premium publishers using its new 360 outstream format.

“We’ve built quality and scale together by working with an iconic brand and an iconic film, combined with interesting partners, distribution techniques and multiple formats. We hope more people will get to view this short film and get a feel of the Ford Mustang and view Lelouch’s classic in a way it’s never been seen before.” Ben Richards Chief Digital Officer GTB

The US$60, 000 Movie that Made US$248.6 Million from Cinemas

The US$60, 000 Movie That Made US$248.6 Million from Cinemas

Yes. It is only in the entertainment industry that your fantasy becomes a reality.
You make a movie with N60 million and you make N450 million within three months (The Wedding Party, Nollywood romantic comedy in 2016/2017).
You spent US$15 million to make a movie and within a year, you made US$377.9 million (Slumdog Millionaire, British drama in 2008/2009). But the most phenomenal of all is The Blair Witch Project, the 1999 American psychological horror film written, directed and edited by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez. They made the film with only US$60,000 and made UD$248.6 million!
Can you beat that?

From Obscurity To Celebrity

There are two kinds of celebrities.
The celebrity with notoriety and the celebrity with nobility.
Which one is a better legacy?

Single Nollywood Actresses No Longer Wear Underwear On Sets Says Uche Maduagwu

It's so shameful and disgusting... Why is it that most female celebrities, especially Nollywood actresses who are single have developed the habit of not wearing pants to movie locations? I can tell you of 4 different star actresses I had personally confirmed, and this is really giving me headaches because, aside the very fact that it is suspicious, its also disgusting.

That's why most of our directors are always losing concentration when they are directing on set, the worst is that these group of actresses are fond of spreading their legs wide unnecessarily just to seduce fellow actors and directors... Their aim and motives are what I am yet to understand, that's how I walked out of a shoot in Asaba when one actress was just misbehaving on set, someone said she just finished smoking marijuana, but that's not my own business, I am an actor and not her doctor, but what I frown at is when someone is opening her legs any how and misbehaving in the middle of a shoot, distracting both the directors, actors and crews, that's what I can't stand, if we want to shoot a movie, let's be professional and let's not turn movie locations into strip clubs. .

May God deliver us in this industry, some people are just here to play around, they are the very few giving nollywood a bad name.
