South African Western Thriller Tops 2018 AMAA in Kigali

Critically acclaimed South African western thriller, "Five Fingers for Marseilles" directed by Michael Matthews won the most coveted award for the best film and four other awards to top the 2018 annual Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held Saturday night at the Intare Conference Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

Synopsis:
Twenty years ago, the young 'Five Fingers' fought for the rural town of Marseilles, against brutal police oppression. Now, after fleeing in disgrace, freedom-fighter-turned-'outlaw' Tau returns to Marseilles, seeking only a peaceful pastoral life. When he finds the town under new threat, he must reluctantly fight to free it. Can he free himself from his past? Will the Five Fingers stand again?

Nollywood stars, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Dakore Egbuson, Gideon Okeke and Joke Silva won the awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Jadesola Osiberu's "Isoken" won the award for Best Nigerian Film.
