Ruben Östlund Won the Most Expensive Palme d’Or Encrusted with 167 Diamonds!
The Palme d'Or won by Ruben Östlund for the "The Square" at the 70th Anniversary Cannes is the first of its kind.

The jeweler, Monsieur Chopard chosen to make the new encrusted Palme d'Or said it was made with 118 grams of pure gold and 0,694 carat of mini diamonds.
It is first poured in a wax mold, injected with gold, and then softened by hand. The palm settles on a one-kilogram crystal cushion, which grants it its special uniqueness.
The Palme d'Or is costlier than the Oscar of the Academy Awards of the United States of America.
The Oscar is made of gold-plated britannium on a black metal base, it is 13.5 in (34.3 cm) tall, the award weighs 8.5 lb (3.856 kg) and depicts a knight rendered in Art Deco style.
