RIP: Baroness Margaret Thatcher, First Iron Lady of the United Kingdom
Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, LG, OM, PC, FRS, née Roberts (13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013), former Conservative Prime Minister of Britain, the longest-serving (1979–1990) of the 20th century, and the first and only woman to have held the post.
This morning former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher passed away "peacefully at 87 following a stroke", according to the BBC.
"Margaret Thatcher succeeded against all the odds. The real thing is she didn't just lead our country; she saved our country. I believe she will go down as the greatest British peacetime prime minister."
