5 Reasons We Still Love James Bond 007
I bet there are many things millions of the fans of James Bond 007 don't know about him when it comes to choice of drinks. According to The Telegraph of UK, Daniel Craig's James Bond likes drinking lager. And of course the 007 Skyfall Heineken Cocktail and here is a list of James Bond cocktails. The following are worth noting. 10 FACTS ABOUT JAMES BOND 007 ON CHOICE OF DRINKS. 1• James Bond's creator, Ian Fleming, loved drinking gin - sometimes a bottle a day - but was converted to bourbon at the suggestion of his doctor who thought it might be marginally less damaging for his health. 2• Among the drinks Bond takes in the films are cocktails such as the Vodka Martini, the Dry Martini, the Vesper, the Old-Fashioned, the Negroni and the Americano. 3• In Quantum Of Solace, 007 says how the Dry Martini should be made: "Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large slice of lemon-peel. Got it?" 4• The phrase 'shaken, not stirred' is mentioned twice in the first Bond film Dr. No (1962.), once by a waiter and once by Dr. No. 5• James Bond occasionally drinks red wine. It's a ChĂ¢teau Mouton Rothschild1947 vintage with Goldfinger. In Diamonds are Forever, 007 catches out the assassin Wint posing as a waiter because the killer didn’t know that Mouton-Rothschild is a claret. 6• Bond also has a fondness for vodka which has allowed product placement in films. Smirnoff was clearly shown in 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies, in which Bond sits drinking a bottle while in his hotel room in Hamburg. Bond picked up the habit from a time in Moscow of dropping a pinch of black pepper on the surface of the drink that sinks to the bottom taking the impurities with it. 7• 007's champagne of choice is pretty wide in the books - ten-year-old Cliquot, Dom Perignon, Krug, Pommery or Taittinger - but he has slummed it and drunk beer before. Heineken was his choice in Goldfinger. 8• The secret agent's desire for a Scotch and Soda was lost in the production of the movies but it is the mixed drink he has most often in the books (a total of 21 times). 9• The Stinger is possibly the most un-Bond-like cocktail. He shares one with Tiffany in the Diamonds are Forever novel. It's made with a touch of creme de menthe - and the hint of a slightly unmanly drink could be the reason it has not been seen in the films. 10• When he's not drinking alcohol, Bond is said to favour Yin Hao, the highest traditional grade of jasmine tea and in the novel Live and Let Die Bond expresses his fondness for Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.
