Warrior Dash To Host World Championship With $100,000 Prize Purse


The World's Largest Obstacle Race Series to Deliver Highest Cash Prize Total in 5K Race History

CHICAGO, Jan. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The inaugural Warrior Dash World Championship is a worldwide 5K obstacle race where top finishers will take home the ultimate bragging rights and thousands of dollars worth of prize money. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Yolo Land and Cattle Co. in Esparto, California.

In order to qualify, participants must compete in a 2014 Warrior Dash race of their choice and place in the top 25 of their gender. Warrior Dash has more than 50 locations worldwide, and those who have run a Warrior Dash outside of the United States or Canada, including, but not limited to, locations in Asia, Europe, Mexico, South America, and Australia, will receive a free entry into the World Championship.

Warrior Dash paved the way in the obstacle racing industry by challenging nearly two million racers of all calibers across the globe since 2009. The addition of the World Championship event will provide a way to recognize elite obstacle racing athletes by introducing a prize purse of $100,000, broken down as follows for the top five male and female finishers: $30,000 for first place, $10,000 for second place, $5,000 for third place, $3,000 for fourth place, and $2,000 for fifth place.
