Orlando Martins and 60 Years of TV in Nigeria and Tropical Africa

I have been busy since last week in a
film and music studio for complete film and music productions in Lagos, Africa's largest megacity, centre of #Nollywood, the first indie film industry and entertainment capital of the continent. I am also working as the publicist for the upcoming action and fantasy thriller, "The Legend of Gatuso", a phenomenal groundbreaking film in Nollywood by the fast rising young director, Leo J Uche, the number one action hero in Africa.


We have just completed the first official trailer.

I have completed the preproduction and production design for my new documentary film project, "I Saw Her On Orlando Martins Street". So, the principal photography will start soon. My cast and crew are ready to roll We are going to take a fast rising Nollywood star actress back in time to #Hollywood to see the first Nigerian Hollywood star, Orlando Martins in action in "Sapphire" in 1959, 60 years ago, the same year that the first TV station in tropical Africa was launched in Western Nigeria by one of the greatest political leaders and philosophers in modern history, the visionary Yoruba sage, Chief Ọbáfẹ́mi Awólọ́wọ,̀ GCFR (March 6,1909 – May 9,1987), the first Premier of Western Region and one of the founding fathers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


Orlando Martins deserves a posthumous #Oscar from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for his illustrious career as an actor in three continents; from England to America to Africa.
I published a special feature on Orlando Martins in the second edition of my NOLLYWOOD MIRROR®Series with his photographs in "Hasty Heart ", 1949 as Blossom with the famous Hollywood star, Ronald Wilson Reagan who later became the 40th President of the United States of America from 1981 to 1989.
He was one of Britain's most prominent and leading black actors and in a poll conducted in 1947, he was listed among Britain's top 15 favourite actors with an impressive filmography, including the following films:
