“The Witch Doctor of the Living Dead": the First Nollywood Zombie Movie


The first Nollywood zombie movie was “The Witch Doctor of the Living Dead" made in 1986 by Prince Charles Abi Enonchong, starring popular Nigerian actors Larry Williams and Joe Layode, popular as Teacher Garuba in the rested drama series, 'Village Headmaster".


Enonchong is a Cameroon filmmaker who should now be part of Collywood of the Cameroon Film Industry.
Charles created the Enonchong O-Reilly Productions in the United States and produced his first film titled, "The Nigerian Biafra War", in 1986.

Synopsis:
An evil witch doctor terrorizes an innocent village. He has the ability to change into a goat, and calls up an army of zombies to destroy anyone who stands in his way. The good priest and his allies must try to stop him.

The movie is included in The Zombie Movie Encyclopedia, Volume 2: 2000–2010 by Peter Dendle.
