It is based on the true life story of Louis Zamperini who was the subject of Angelina Jolie"s biopic, Unbroken of 2014, adapted from Zamperini's detailed account of his experiences in Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, written by Laura Hillenbrand. The book was #1 New York Times bestseller in 2010 and won several awards.

Unbroken: Path to Redemption is an upcoming American drama film directed by Harold Cronk, serving as a spiritual sequel to Unbroken (2014). The film chronicles Louis Zamperini following his return from World War II and his conversion to Christianity after attending one of Billy Graham's church revivals. It stars Samuel Hunt as Zamperini, with *Vanessa Bell Calloway, Bobby Campo, David DeLuise, Bob Gunton, David Sakurai and Gary Cole also starting while Will Graham portrays his grandfather. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 14, 2018.
