South Africa has the biggest film industry in Africa by box office with over 22, 400, 000 admissions at more than 857 screens of cinemas owned by Ster-Kinekor, Nu- Metro, Uip  and others.
Estimated total annual box office -US$75 million.

Egypt has the second biggest film industry in Africa with over 31, 000, 000 admissions from more than 294 screens of cinemas belonging to The Trinity: (Nasr - Oscar - El Massah),
Al Arabia Cinema Company and others.
Estimated total annual box office - US$74.7 million.

Nigeria has the third biggest film industry in Africa with over 460, 083 admissions from 130 screens of cinemas operated by Filmhouse Cinemas, Silverbird Cinemas, Genesis Deluxe Cinemas and others.
Estimated total annual box office- US$10.5million
NB: Nigerian cinemas made N3.5billion in 2016.
