PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Sept. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- North Shore Animal League America spokesperson, volunteer and foster parent Beth Stern and her husband Howard Stern have generously donated their time and love in support of creating a one-of-a kind 2014 calendar showcasing the adorable canines and felines that can be found in local shelters. With each turn of the calendar page, animal lovers are welcomed by beautiful and colorful images of Beth and many adoptable and lovable Animal League America rescue pets, known as Mutt-i-grees®, photographed in a variety of gorgeous settings by Howard Stern.

"Howard and I have found that our cats Walter, Apple, Leon Bear, and Charley Boy enrich our lives so much. We wanted to show our support for the many wonderful animals that can be found in shelters and through rescue groups," said Beth Stern, Animal League spokesperson. "This calendar is especially close to our hearts as all proceeds assist the League in saving more animals' lives in honor of our beloved Bianca."
"All proceeds from this calendar will go directly to support a wonderful, exciting project," said Senior Vice President of Operations at North Shore Animal League America Joanne Yohannan.
Animal League America is planning the biggest expansion in its history, with plans to add a second floor to the Adoption Headquarters in Port Washington, NY. The new space will feature a Feline Wellness and Adoption Center and will be named Bianca's Furry Friends—in honor of Beth & Howard Stern's beloved Bulldog Bianca, who passed away in 2012.
In this 2014 Animal League calendar, Howard creatively captures the heart and soul of Beth and her precious animal friends. Also included in the portfolio are images of the Stern's recently adopted cat Charlie Boy, and many of the over 40 kittens they have fostered for the League in the last few months.
