Ebele and Chibuike Finally Consummate their Love The Families of Chief (Sir ) Sam Ihionu & Chief (Sir) Nnamdi Okwuonu have every reason to be joyous. Come December 5th, 2020, their children, Chibuike Ihionu and Ebele Okwuonu will finally consummate the love they share as they are joined in a holy matrimony at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha. With invitation cards printed and distributed, and preparations in top gear, the wedding was initially fixed for Saturday, April 4th 2020 but just as all social and religious events slated for the months of March, April, May, June 2020, the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria forced the two families to postpone it. While  December 5th will see Chibuike and Ebele exchanging marital vows before a priest and the congregation, the Igbo traditional version of it will take place earlier on October 31st. Consequently, all roads will lead to Chief (Sir) Okwuonu ( Kwochaa) house at Nkwelle village Uke, for the traditional marriage that

PODCAST: The Lies That Women Have Been Told - Bozoma Saint John, (CMO) at Netflix

“I am disturbed by the fact that there are less Black women in C-suite positions than there were five years ago,” she told Adweek in February. “That is really disturbing to me. The trend should be moving the other way. Why is it not? We are constantly paving these roads, we’re breaking these ceilings, we’re climbing these rungs, and why is it that we cannot still make any headway? That keeps me up at night. I want to solve that. I want to be a part of the solution.” - Bozoma Saint John, Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at @Netflix. Prior to this role, she was the chief brand officer at Uber and the CMO for Endeavor.

My Earth, My City and My Heartthrob

Image
#saturdayvibes💋 My Earth, My City and My Heartthrob   When the Atlas shook  The floors cracked under our feet. And the walls collapsed.  Coughs of inferno  Raining fiery ashes down  Fuel of fire flows.  Rising up higher   The waves swallow shells and sand  While the swimmers scream.  Lagos city crawls  Tortoise caught in winding paths  Lost in the jungle.  Heaps of refuse  Decorating the streets  With evil miasma.  Commuters picket  As pump prices  Of fuel rise.   Oh, humanity!  Why are you such a wonder  That makes me numb. Only God knows how  How the wind in autumn blows  How the river flows.  Life is a prayer  Total submission to God Overcomes the world. I see the rainbow  In seven colours  When life is in bloom.  In the summer of love  Passions bloom like sunflowers In garden of life.  Adeleke came  Our muse ascended higher  Reaching for the stars.   Stark silken tresses  Glowing eyelashes of night  The sheen of the moon.  Twin blinking brown balls  Golden eye lashes of dawn  In

VOGUE: What Does A Model Get Paid?

Image
What Does A Model Get Paid?     While the road to becoming a successful model is often paved with challenges, hard work and plenty of rejection, it can be a lucrative career. Aspiring models should note though that a lot of editorial work is not paid for, but rather done in order to build up one’s book, or model portfolio. Up-and-comers should also be aware that even if you have booked a show at fashion week, say in Paris, or Milan, any flights and accommodation required to get there are also covered by models themselves.   As Alexina Graham, who is both a Victoria’s Secret Angel and L'Oréal Paris brand ambassador, tells Vogue candidly:  “I started at 18 and earned very little money for five years. It wasn’t until my sixth year that I started earning; I was ready to give up.”  Click here to continue reading the article .
