Top 20 Fast Rising Stars of Nollywood

The top twenty fast rising stars of Nollywood will be featured in the much awaited third edition of the NOLLYWOOD MIRROR®Series with special focus on the best twenty Nigerian female filmmakers to support the #shareherjourney campaign of which Nollywood diva, Genevieve Nnaji is the cover story star for her groundbreaking directorial debut film "Lionheart" as the Nigerian Director of the Year. Her outstanding success for making "Lionheart", the first @netflix original film from Nigeria is worth celebrating.

The third edition of the NOLLYWOOD MIRROR®Series has taken three years of planning since I published the second edition in 2014.
The delay has not been a waste of time with the recent achievements of new female directors in Nollywood such as Omoni Oboli, Kemi Adetiba, Amaka Anioji, Grace Edwin-Okon, Nosarieme Garrick and Adebukola Bodunrin. I wanted to feature only the international prize winning female directors in Nigeria and the Diaspora, but that would have excluded some hard working women producing movies and TV dramas for the local cinemas and TV channels whose productions have not made selections for accredited international film festivals. I have to research and find out the film productions of the best who are not based in Nigeria.

The third edition will highlight the best Nigerian action hero and new actors and actresses to watch out for in Nollywood and #Kannywood of the Nigerian film industry .

The first edition focusing on the 2013 annual Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and the inaugural Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) is now a collector's edition. The NOLLYWOOD MIRROR®Series is first and currently the only book series on the Nigerian film industry highly recommended and used by scholars and students of film studies in film schools and universities in America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
