Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) best actor award winner OC Ukeje, whose stellar performances in Blessing Effiom Egbe’s “Two Brides and a Baby”, Charles Novia’s “Alan Poza” and Kenneth Gyang’s multiple award winning movie “Confusion Na Wa" have wowed thousands of people is tipped to play the male lead in Naked Beauty a new blockbuster film to be shot on Bonny Island, Rivers State. And also tipped for the female lead is sexy and sultry Nollywood actress Beverly Naya who was OC Ukeje’s lover in “Alan Poza”.

Naked Beauty is co-written by accomplished Nollywood producer and director Christian Chika Onu and Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima, Founder of the annual Eko International Film Festival and also Founder/CEO of Screen Outdoor Open Air Cinema, operators of the recently launched Screen Naija One Village, One Cinema after four years of research and recce on Bonny Island where Michael Chima chose to make his first feature that will be an unusual movie in the Nigerian film industry.

“I have already started considering Okechukwu Chukwudi Ukeje and Beverly Naya for the lead roles with Olu Jacobs and Ngozi Ezeonu as the parents of ‘Oma’ the lead actress. Naked Beauty is totally different from anything in Nigerian movies, combining fine art photography and cinematography to capture the awesome nature of the Niger Delta epitomized by the male lead ‘Tonye’ who is a nature photographer and the beauty of his muse "Oma". It is a story you will fall in love with,” said Michael Chima.

“I loved Michael Brierley's cinematography in Darrel Roodt's "Yesterday", the 2004 South African drama nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 77th Academy Awards. So, I am already considering one of the best cinematographers from France whose younger brother Robert Minangoy, a former Regional Audio-Visual Attache for West Africa has agreed to be my co-director and we are also getting a French Editor”

The film will be ready early next year, but Michael Chima who is also the Publisher/Editor of the new Nollywood Mirror magazine will not give the details of the budget and financiers, except that the film will produce the highest paid actors in Nollywood and there are already commercial distributors interested in the spin-offs from the worldwide publicity campaigns in major international languages.
