Joshua Ojo's Epic "Sango" is Spellbinding!


Joshua Ojo is a much-admired Nigerian filmmaker, writer and actor. He is best known for his highly commendable works such as Suzanne Wenger, Berger and Dagrin.


Earlier in the year, Joshua Ojo Wrote and Directed the high budget movie, Efunsetan Aniwura, which tells the story of the second iyalode of Ibadan. It is a story of the strongest and wealthiest Yoruba woman in Yoruba history and is due to hit the cinemas very soon.
Joshua Ojo's works have been characterized by a strong connection to history with an effort to infuse visual and poetic beauty in his stories such as Fuji House of Commotion and Tightrope. He has written, produced and directed a variety of movies, series and TV commercials. His films are known for its detailed attention.

In 2018, Joshua Ojo expressed interest in a stop-motion remake of the historical movie of the legendary African king, SANGO. The second Alaafin of Oyo which will hit the cinemas in a few months. The high budget movie has been in development for over a year and spending months on the post-production with the massive VFX.
Like we all know in Yoruba mythology, Sango also known as Jakuta is the most popular god. He was the god of thunder and lightning and as well one of the most worshipped gods all over the world. Sango was a royal ancestor of the Yoruba as he was the third king of the Oyo Kingdom. He succeeded Ajaka, son of Oranmiyan. His symbol is a double-headed axe, which represents swift and balanced justice.


Joshua Ojo believes this movie will change the perception of people towards the Nigerian motion picture by the time it hits the Cinemas.
