Unknown to majority of people, including the most acclaimed film scholars and followers of #Nollywood, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) midwifed the first African video film industry, the phenomenal Nollywood in 1992 when the ace NTA director, Chris Obi Rapu, aka "Skipo" made the groundbreaking Living in Bondage for TV producers, Kenneth Nnebue and Okechukwu Ogunjiofor.

Believe it or not, he was paid less than US$100 (by current exchange rate of the USdollar to the Naira ) to direct the first blockbuster movie in the history of Nollywood.
