America's Next Top Model Winner CariDee English's Upcoming Series "In The Bag" Wraps Filming In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, June 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Local producer, Joey Tufaro of Gold Star Films, who recently released "Maggie" featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and upcoming film "Kidnap" to be released later this year starring Halle Berry, and Peter Zuppardo recently completed production on a new raucous comedic series titled "In the Bag."
The announcement comes as Gold Star Films and the series' creator prepare a wide promotional push to determine the distribution of the series.

Filmed in a local New Orleans' supermarket, the series follows the new, optimistic manager of Value Assured Groceries as he desperately tries to navigate from one crazy mishap to another while also juggling unreasonable customers and even more outlandish employees. The series takes the mundane nuances of everyday life and twists them in a fresh new way.

Starring America's Next Top Model winner CariDee English alongside upcoming actors Dave Davis ("True Detective," "Walking Dead," "Stolen"), Sterling Hurst ("White Rice") and Madeline Thelton ("A Gift Horse," "Big Bad"), "In the Bag" hilariously showcases just how bizarre and chaotic a neighborhood supermarket can be on a daily basis.

The YouTube sensation Scott Allen Perry ("The Ponceman Channel") directed and co-wrote "In the Bag" with the show's creator Peter Zuppardo based on his real life events. Zuppardo drew on very personal experiences having grown up working and running Zuppardo's Family Supermarket, a local staple of New Orleans (which just so happens to be the set of the show).

"Many characters and situations were heavily influenced by actual events that I faced while growing up in the grocery business," explains creator Peter Zuppardo.

New Orleans based producer Joey Tufaro of Gold Star Films is executive producing alongside Zuppardo. Co-writer and director Scott Allen Perry helmed the shoot with frequent collaborator and cinematographer Eric Curtis ("The Victim," "Treachery").

Zuppardo is not the only one drawing from personal experiences on the show. CariDee English plays Ralph the Janitor, a position she is all too familiar with, as she actually worked as a janitor for many years.

"This project takes a fresh and comedic look at a place we have all spent many agonizing hours visiting. Peter and Scott did a great job of making this show very funny," said Tufaro.
