The Pilgrimage To The Passion Flower

The Pilgrimage To The Passion Flower

I saw the passion flower
Blossoming in a receptacle of thorns
With star-shaped cruciform petals of blood
I saw white butterflies hovering over the passion flower
Like angels flying around the Mount of Olives.
I saw ants crawling in a column on the stem to and fro the red petals
Looking like hooded Jesuit priests going to and fro a cathedral with stained glass windows.
