90th Academy Awards' Nominees


Mexican film director, Guillermo del Toro Gómez's American fantasy drama, "The Shape of Water" topped the nominees for the 90th Academy Awards with 13 nominations; for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Sally Hawkins, Best Supporting Actor for Richard Jenkins, Best Supporting Actress for Octavia Spencer, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design and Best Film Editing,

It was premiered at the 74th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2017 and won the Golden Lion for Best Film in the competition. The film also won the Best Director and Best Original Score at the 75th Golden Globe Awards, on top of five other nominations.
The American Film Institute selected it as one of the top 10 films of the year. At the 71st British Academy Film Awards, the film received 12 nominations, including Best Film.


The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday announced the nominees for the 90th annual awards. Winners will be announced during the live broadcast on March 4, 2018 at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, U.S.
