Fast rising Nollywood director, JLeo Uche with Audun Vaaler. JLeo's new film, the SciFi epic, "The Legend of Gatuso" is currently the talk of the town.

Drylab is a company founded by Norwegian @Emmy Award-winning cinematographer John Christian Rosenlund, DoP of “The Kong’s Choice” that was nominated for an #Oscar in the category of Best Foreign Language film. Drylab provides dailies software to help directors, cinematographers, script supervisors and other creative team members to make better film and TV, while reducing costs and overhead. Most productions in the home market of Norway are now using Drylab, and are repeat customers, with strong international growth.
Drylab's application has been successfully used in the production of the miniseries, “Catch-22”, produced by Paramount/Hulu and directed by George Clooney.

Drylab Dailies tools help make it easy and fast to create and distribute dailies, locally on set via Wi-Fi or anywhere via the likes of Dropbox. Organize, ingest and transcode Quicktime files, and store a whole feature film securely on your team’s iPads.

Dailies Creator is a drag & drop application that ingests and transcodes all QuickTime files, and generates dailies for immediate iPad distribution.

Dailies Creator is able to automatically include metadata from Cam Report and merge them with the video files. Or simply enter metadata manually and use the drag & drop interface to quickly tag your takes.

Finally: Distribute your project via Wi-Fi and Dropbox.

Using Drylab Dailies without an Internet connection

- By Audun Vaaler.

Drylab Dailies can distribute dailies wirelessly to everyone on set even if you don't have an Internet connection. The exact procedure depends on your setup, but is fast and simple:

If you have a Wi-Fi router on-set, continue below.
If you don't have a router, create a network on your Mac: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, followed by Create Network.... Enter a suitable name (e.g. Dailies) and click the Create button.

Connect your Mac (running Creator) and your iPads (running Viewer) to your Wi-Fi network. Viewer will find Creator automatically, and begin downloading clips and metadata for productions that it's authorized to see.

When do I need an Internet connection?

You will need an Internet connection for the following:

Distributing dailies to team members outside the set. Creator uploads metadata and encrypted clips to the cloud whenever it has Internet connectivity, making them available for download by remote Dailies Viewers.

Sending reports from Set Report to Creator. A cell phone connection is good enough.
Pairing Viewer, Creator and Set Report with a production.
In other words, make sure you have an Internet connection when you begin your production. After that you should only need it occasionally.

Drylab Dailies On Your Set

We've put a lot of effort into making Drylab Dailies work well even under demanding conditions. If you have feedback or run into problems on your set, we'll be very grateful if you let us know.
